Arca Begüm Bayır-Oğuz graduated from Marmara University with a double major in Sociology (English) and Law departments. She completed her master degree at Yeditepe University Sociology (English) department with her sociology and law interdisciplinary thesis titled "Sociological Factors Affecting The Judicial Decision Making of Judges In Contentious Cases In Turkey" and she became a sociology expert. Besides that, she did another master's at Galatasaray University Law Department, Human Rights Law, with the project "A Feminist Perspective on Turkish Penal Code 438 and the Justifications of the Constitutional Court Regarding Article 438". During her undergraduate and graduate educations, she participated in various projects, research, and training in gender and law and worked as a consultant. Now, she continues her work as a Gender Equality Expert at Özyeğin University. She is also a member of the Socio-Legal Studies Association, where law intersects with different fields.
